Can I get a key made without the original key?
I have an outside door (pool room) that locks, but is currently not locked (thank god) and I want to make a new key for the door. It's like a homeowners simple schlage lock nothing too fancy. (SC1 keys) it also has a deadbolt, which I am not sure if it is Keyed Alike. How can I get a key made for these locks? Can I just bring the serial numbers inside the lock to a locksmith, or do they need the whole assembly? Does anyone know around how much it would cost? Is it going to be cheaper to just buy a whole new set up? A new set will run me like $50 maybe a little less but how much would the average locksmith charge?
Im sorry to disappoint but, due to unlawful actions that may result the locksmith will require you to bring the original key to have a copy made
