The Bronze Bow was written by Elizabeth George Speare. It's about a Jewish boy who avenges his fathers death (at the hands of the Roman soldiers) by joining an outlaw band living in the hills of Jerusalem. He meets Jesus and is disappointed by his lack of desire to kill all the Romans. Eventually his thirst for revenge leads him down a devastating path and he drags his friend Joel, Joel's sister Malthace, his own sister Leah with him. Most of his friends drift away from him because of his outlaw behavior. Only his sisters near death sickness causes him to find Jesus to ask for his help and to learn forgiveness from him.
