How do I repair a fist-sized hole in a solid-core door?
Idiot tenant put his fist through one side. The hole is too big to pull out the pieces and wood fill, stain and varnish. Too expensive to replace with a new pre-hung door; which you then need to stain and varnish. I don't think they come already stained and varnished, do they? And if so, where?
if it a 6 panel door just get a new slab and cut the new hinges and drill for knob (cost around 20 bucks) if it is a smooth skin door just buy some door skin (luan ?sp?) cut to fit and glue to the door.
