What is safe to clean a lead crystal decanter?
I have a port decanter that had some port left in it for a year and I can't get it clean just rinsing with soap and water. What can I use that is safe on lead crystal?
.Soak new crystal in vinegar for 24 hours before use, wash by hand with a mild detergent, and rinse each piece thoroughly with lukewarm water. But don't drink out of it. Since the dangers of lead exposure are even more prominent for children and pregnant women, it’s best to avoid using lead crystal entirely for these groups.
