can someone help ID old solid brass fish, stands on 4legs from belly 7"x3" handmade,I'm sure it has a history
Without pictures and a way to examine it in person, you're really wasting your time here. I'd take it to a local antique shop... or try seeing if submitting a picture to a show like Find! or Antiques Roadshow would get some sort of response.
If you DO submit a picture somewhere online, be sure to include as MUCH information as possible... how you came into possession of the item, who it belonged to before you (if you know), WHERE you obtained it (the region might hint to the creator).... and if you CAN submit pictures, submit LOTS of them... as many as can show the craftmanship of the piece and any possible markings that might hint to the creator's signature/mark.
I still say taking it to someone in person is your best bet.
